2027 Toyota Corolla.

Last Updated:

The current 12th generation Toyota Corolla came out in 2018, and a new one is rumored to come out for the 2027 model year in the US.

That would mean an introduction in early 2026 or maybe even before they decide to redesign it for the 2026 model year. However, that would mean a busy year for Toyota with a new RAV4 scheduled for that same year.

While not as popular as it once was, and not as popular as many SUVs, the Corolla still sold over 232,000 units last year in the US, its largest market. Which is even more than the Honda Civic.

As usual, the Corolla is available in many different designs like a sedan, hatchback, and wagon. Under different names around the world with many different powertrains. While the US is only getting the sedan and hatchback version. With a standard 169 2.0 Liter engine or a Hybrid option.

The illustration above shows a pretty conservative redesign for the next Corolla. This sounds pretty realistic since Toyota isn’t known to go nuts from one generation to another. Except for the fantastic-looking Prius. However, the Prius sale numbers were shrinking year after year and Tpypta decided to roll the dice on a super modern and vastly more attractive design. It seems to work with sales going back up and mostly fantastic reviews.

Toyota doesn’t have much incentive to give us a fantastic-looking new Corolla next year, and they will probably stick to the usual recipe. The main event could be the addition of a PHEV version for North America.

  1. The attractive redesign of the Prius exterior is certainly one of the prime reasons for its recent sales success. But a major boost in power is equally responsible. The Prius used to be the butt of jokes for how slow it drove. No more.
