Chevrolet Corvette SUV.

There were a few rumors about a new 4-door, super sporty Corvette SUV a couple of years ago. Many even guess that GM was getting more than one new sporty model under the Corvette name. Basically, almost creating a Corvette sub-brand. One that could also include a low 4-door sedan. A high-end lineup of sports cars that would compete against Porsche.
And then, nothing…
These new models would have been based on an updated version of GM’s Ultium platform. Competing directly against the Porsche Taycan, Macan EV, and upcoming Cayenne EV.
The indea of a 4 door Corvette Crossover wouldn’t be that blasphemous anymore since the Porsche Cayenne, Aston Martin DBX and even the Bentley Bentayga are big sellers for their respective brands. A Chevrolet Corvette SUV would instantly be more popular than the classic coupe and convertible models. The blasphemous part would be an Ultium based Corvette EV.
Just like the current C8 Corvette has been compared to much more expensive Italian sports cars, the new SUV could be considered a much cheaper Lamborghini Urus competitor. Although “much cheaper” won’t really mean affordable since it will probably reach $ 100,000 pretty quickly.
A raised up 4-door crossover body driving like a sports car is a big ticket item with a huge profit margin. Sure the Porsche 911 is the classic Porsche. However, last year, it sold around 10,200 units. Which is not as popular as the aging Cayenne. The Chevrolet Corvette is a much more popular car in the US with over 33,300 of them sold last year. Doubling that number for the new SUV could bring total Corvette sales (Coupe/Convertible and SUV) to about 100,000 units a year.
Maybe the idea is on the back burner for now. However, GM has been very successful with its new EVs. The Cadillac Lyriq is the brand’s second-best seller. Chevrolet has already sold over 37,000 EVs in 2025 so far.
Moving up with even more expensive models seems like a no-brainer. But who am I to say? Really…
