2027 Hyundai Venus V: the Future is Now.

Hyundai has already unveiled the production version of the Venus Sedan Concept. A concept we just saw a few days ago!

The car is now called the Hyundai Ioniq V. I guess that’s a V and not a 5. And for better or worse, its design will probably influence every new Hyundai model from now on. We’ve already seen many spy shots of the revised Hyundai Santa Fe. The all-new 2027 Tucson and the next generation Elantra sedan. All seem to have already adopted a similar design language. Smooth yet angular, with lots of LED light bars everywhere.

The interior also looks like a concept car. Although I am really not a fan of a screen in front of the passenger, you’ll have to admit that this interior is quite futuristic.

It seems the largest car market in the world won’t be getting current Ioniq models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, 6 or 9. But brand new models instead. Like this Ioniq V sedan, for a start. That alone says a lot about how quickly expectations are shifting there, and how brands are forced to rethink entire lineups just to stay competitive.

The new sedan does remind me of Honda’s stunning 0 Series sedan concept. You know, the one Honda cancled before it even started. Meanwhile, the market isn’t waiting around.

At the same time, Hyundai is far from giving up. Instead pushing ahead with a couple of futuristic EVs that look ready to challenge anything coming out of China right now. And doing it very quickly.

We’ll have to wait to see if the Ioniq V design could influence the second generation Ioniq 5. Which could be due out in a couple of years in our part of the world. Or a replacement for the Ioniq 6. Or even both, if Hyundai decides to unify its design direction globally.

Things are looking pretty futuristic at Hyundai these days. The future looks bright. Maybe it’s even time to get spandex jackets and hope for New York to Paris in 90 minutes.

  1. Just when Toyota makes a pretty Prius, Hyundai makes a fugly Prius. Makes sense. So does the odd CyberTruck looking influence in the three quarter view of the white car (fourth image). Everything’s fine. Nothing to see here.

  2. Honda’s 0 Series sedan was a model that should have been built in small numbers. Maybe they will delay it a few years when batteries make sense to buy. I would love to see the Hyundai Ioniq V to come here as well.
