Future Cadillac CT6/DeVille.
Last Updated:
While I am glad Cadillac came up with a second-generation CT6 sedan, it is sad to see it only being sold in China.
On top of that, it doesn’t seem to be such an improvement over the previous generation. At least outside (The interior is actually a big improvement). I think Cadillac needs something with more personality. Something a bit more like the illustration above.
We already know GM is working on two new Cadillac Sedans based on an updated version of the Ultium EV platform. So there is still hope for something truly modern looking. And maybe something for us slobs in North America. Wouldn’t that be nice…
It seems the luxury EV sedan is far from dead. With cars like the Lucid Air, Mercedes EQS, and BMW i7. And more to come from Audi and many others. Let’s just hope GM decides to offer the new Cadillac sedans over here too.
All we know is they will both have a fastback design. Let’s also hope and pray to the Gods that these will be true hatchbacks and not just plain old sedans with small trunk openings masquerading as hatchbacks.
I think a nice futuristic/retro Cadillac sedan would please many potential buyers if priced right. This means bellow the German competition, and not like some crazy $300 000 car…
What do you think?
The new Chinese CT6 took all that was good with the previous car, but replaced the distinctive Cadillac roofline with a very derivative Chevy Impala treatment. Such a shame.
There’s a big opportunity for Cadillac in the US and the rest of the world, and I think they know it. The opportunity is the stumble of both Mercedes and BMW, at a time when Audi is just not developing anything new. By contrast, Cadillac is looking fresh and different than the current clown show in car design.
Bring back 2 door coupe like the ATS or a modern Eldorado.
Bring back a large sedan
I think a hatchback Cadillac would be a travesty. GM has produced beautiful company cars only to never bring them to market. It’s time.
