Jaguar’s new EV sedan.

The middle photo has surfaced on the internet as being a possible part of a prototype of the upcoming all-new Jaguar EV sport sedan. it is not…

It is actually the front fender of a Jaguar XE. Which is nothing new. As a matter of fact, the XE is part of the upcoming giant slaughter of almost all models from Jaguar. As Jaguar recently announced discontinuing all their current cars and SUVs except the Jaguar F-Pace SUV. In their switch to being an EV brand, even their current EV, the Jaguar i-Pace is getting the axe.

The only concrete thing we have about an all-new Jaguar EV sedan is the teaser released over a year ago in April 2023. (third pic). There has been no news since. Which is rather odd…

Last year, the teaser came with a bit of news. Like a $124,000 price tag, reflecting the brand’s wish to move up market. And a possible EV range of over 430 miles.

While $124,000 sounds like a huge bump in price compared to current Jaguar models, it is actually in line with other high-end EV sedans. Like the base Porsche Taycan at $100,000. Or the Audi e-Tron GT at around $110,000. And these can go up to over $180,000.

Besides the new “4-door GT” teased last year, another larger sedan is also rumored which could be an EV rebirth of the classic Jaguar XJ. And of course, at least one SUV model. The first model, the “4-door GT” will be shown late this year and available in 2025. A second model will be available late next year as well. Probably the SUV. Apparently, all these new Jaguar EVs will use the NACS Tesla charging system. Which could be a big help.

The illustration on top shows what the upcoming 4-door GT EV could look like. However, last year’s teaser seemed to show something quite angular. Which I think could be quite a shock for a new Jaguar design.

Let’s hope they don’t mess this up. It would be so nice to see great-looking new Jaguars again…

  1. Jaguar should not go all EV at all. EV sales are already down. They’re a bad idea. Let Tesla have that market. Mercedes & BMW are figuring it out. Jaguar does not have the luxury of time or sales to support this idea.
