I was very impressed by the new Lucid Gravity electric SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sure, the design is not as clean and futuristic as the concept we saw 3 years ago, but compared to all other large SUVs currently in production, this still looks like a spaceship, inside and out.
And of course, it’s very expensive. Although at a starting price of under $ 80,000, this will be competing with a lot of stuff. Not only the obvious large EV SUVs like the Rivian R1S, Tesa Model X, Mercedes EQS SUV, or BMW iX, but also luxury ICE models. Like the Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, Audi Q8. Even the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover. Most of these have a higher starting price than the Lucid Gravity.
I think this will be a Godsend for the Lucid brand and will probably keep them afloat until they release more affordable models like a smaller sedan and SUV.

I actually like the square steering wheel. Every time I’ve driven a car with a steering wheel that’s flat on the bottom, with the extra space it provides, I wonder why ever steering wheel isn’t like that.
