Future compact Alfa-Romeo.
Last Updated:
I am not sure which one came first, but these 2 illustrations of a future smaller compact Alfa-Romeo SUV look almost the same.
While it has no official name yet, the new Alfa will share a lot with the new Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger, as it will be based on the same e-CMP2 platform.
This means it will not be coming to the US, and will be quite a bit smaller than the new Tonale. It will be offered as an EV or Hybrid. Although the hybrid version of the Fiat 600 is pretty anemic with a 127HP powertrain and wouldn’t really fit Alfa’s sportier image.
It looks like Stellantis is squeezing everything it can out of that e-CMP2 platform with vehicles from all of their European brands using it. But none of them coming to North America…
Stellantis is one of the rare companies that seem to offer a Hybrid version of most of their EV models. Even in the US, the new 2025 Ramcharger pickup will be sold alongside its EV equivalent, the 2025 Ram REV. So far they have just announced pure EV versions of the upcoming Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S, but who knows? Since the new STLA platform seems to allow it, we might also see Hybrid versions of these.
They are deluding the brand from its Italian roots. Not sure if that illustration is accurate, and if it is, not sure what to make of it.
