Toyota Crown Signia Video.

Last Updated:

The new Toyota Crown Signia is actually more like a raised station wagon than an SUV, which is great.

I think it might interest buyers who might also be looking at a Subaru Outback, as it seems around the same size. However, the Crown Signia is about 1000% better looking than the Outback or any Subaru model. It looks really good in person and reminds me a bit of a super-sized 2023 Prius. The front end is very modern looking, and look! No huge ugly grille anywhere. Which is so refreshing .

The Crown Signia will be replacing the current Toyota Venza. It is longer and roomier than the Venza, which will help since the Venza was almost exactly the same size as the cheaper RAV-4. It looks like Toyota realized they were just too late to re-use the name “Venza” and it didn’t seem to work this time around. Instead, they are now using the “Crown” name, something North American buyers had never heard of before last year when the weirdo “sedan/not sedan” was introduced over here. This should have obviously been a “Camry Cross”.

Whatever it’s called, it is powered by Toyotsa’s 2,5 Liter Hybrid used on almost everything they build these days and is rated at 36MPH on average. Toyota is marketing the new Crown Signia as a quiet and comfortable car, which is also refreshing. Not everyone is into “sporty”. They mention things like “comfort at the forefront”, “exceptional ride quality”, “smooth, relaxing drive” and “as smooth as they come”. This will sound great to many buyers.

This is a short video of the top-of-the-line Limited version of the new Crown Signia that was at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Vince, you’re old enough to know that the Crown was the first Toyota sold back in the US between 1958 and 1972. And not just the first Toyota, the first Japanese car period. So, yeah, people have heard of it before.

  2. Interesting voice. I was trying to think of who it sounds like. I wonder if there is any fun to drive factor built in.

  3. I don’t think anyone under 75 years old would ever remember about the old Crown.
99.9% of the US population has never heard of it…
