2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6.

Last Updated:

Time seems to really fly and somehow it’s already time for a Hyundai Ioniq 6 mid-cycle facelift.

The top photo shows a camouflage prototype of the revised Ioniq 6 while the second pic is an illustration. Probably based on the spy shot. It’s hard to tell how accurate that illustration is with so much camouflage covering the early Hyundai prototype. But I guess it could be close, maybe. Who knows.

The Ioniq 6 sedan is getting quite popular these days. With a 100% jump in sales last April compared to April 2023. While the Ioniq 6 starts at $42,500, you can lease one for an amazing $199 a month with $4000 down. Of course, this is a base car with not much included.

That would compare to $360 a month with $3000 down for a base Camry LE.

There is no doubt affordable leases like these are helping EV adoption by being actually cheaper than similar ICE models. You also add more savings by never buying gas again as well.

The Ioniq 6 has been getting very good reviews in general. I personally think, like many others, that it should be a proper hatchback. Especially since the trunk opening is actually very small and unusable for loading large items. And the interior of that SE model is pretty basic looking with some rather cheap materials around.

But hey, a new large-room sedan for $199 a month…

  1. As derived as it is, I love the Ioniq 6. Most people seem to praise the Porsche/Saab inspired back but say the front looks a bit plain. This might make it look more aggressive overall.

  2. I think the I6 looks the best in darker shades of color. Darker shades have a way of concealing some of the awkward sloping body lines. I also wish Hyundai would eliminate the bulges on the side of the dashboard where the side view camera screens are located in the global market cars. It just looks strange on the US market cars.
