2026 Toyota RAV4
Last Updated:
These are new illustrations showing what the redesigned Toyota RAV4 for the 2026 model year could look like.
There is a new RAV4 coming later this year and its design is still anyone’s guess since we haven’t seen any prototypes of it driving around yet. Nothing.
Apparently, a Toyota exec has recently mentioned the company “does not want to mess up that formula”. Toyota believes they have a winning formula with the current generation RAV4 and they are correct. With over 434,000 sold last year and almost 240,000 this year, they will not be giving us some crazy new design any time soon.
- The first image shows a completely new design still inspired by the current generation. Which is in line with that winning formula, just a bit more modern.
- The second one just looks like a smaller Toyota Land Cruiser, which would be a drastic change for the RAV4, and not what Toyota is planning to do.
- The 3rd illustration shows something that is very close to the current model. However, a bit more tortured.
- The white one is also in line with keeping the formula, and still showing a new and different design.
- I think the bottom image would be a good choice. Looking new but very similar to the current generation. However, I do think Toyota is getting us ready for a heavy facelift instead of an all-new generation. Something like the 2025 Toyota Camry.
It seems the RAV4 is more popular than ever even in its last year of the current generation. RAV4 buyers don’t seem to care. Just redesigning the front end will make the car “look new” to most potential buyers and that’s probably enough for Toyota. And just like the 2025 Camry, there will be a new interior. Or at least new enough .
I also fully expect the 2026 RAV4 to have a standard powertrain just like the 2025 Camry. Touting a standard Hybrid is great for advertising.
If the last is used, those nostrils on each side had better do something. They look ridiculous if non-functional.
Since 1954 all USA vehicles have shown fake “ nostrils “ have been gimmick
To sell fake cars and trucks.
Toyota has already said that the 2026 Rav4 will not be a radical redesign. It’s going to be a minor facelift. They are on track to sell 500,000 of them this year, they don’t want to go with something radically different if the current formula is working so well.
