Future Lincoln Convertible.
Last Updated:
Since I posted an illustration of what a new Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible could look like for the EV age, let’s be fair and show what a future Lincoln luxury convertible could be.
Of course, the illustration above has many retro cues, while still looking more modern than anything Lincoln offers today. It would also be very refreshing to see a new Lincoln that isn’t an SUV.
Lincoln does offer the Zephyr sedan in China. It came out in 2022 and is powered by the usual 2.0 Liter Turbo from Ford.
Lincoln was supposed to get a version of the large Ford EV SUV that was planned for next year. The Ford version has been pushed back to 2026 and the same thing probably happened to the more luxurious Lincoln version. The new large EV will probably replace the Aviator in Lincoln’s lineup.
Buick just showed their concept for a future EV sedan for the Chinese market. Cadillac is working on 2 EV sedans. And so are many others. Lincoln will have to do the same if they want to be successful in China.
These sedans could also spin off coupe or even convertible models. Although that might only happen in another dimension.
For now, we’ll just have to guess what could be…

We are about to get an early idea of whether there is a market for 2 door EVs with the new Charger EV coupe.
DOA
So many times in the past we have seen artists renditions of future car designs, and while they are interesting, they aren’t natural evolution of the cars we are currently driving . But looking at this Lincoln I can see a past Lincolnesck heritage, and I like what I see. I’m a total Ford man, I have been all my life. I’ve owned several Lincolns in the past and they never disappoint. The Lincoln styling has always represented the perfect look of traditional American luxury sedans. I have owned Town Cars and Marks, my last Mark was black with black leather 1990 Mark Vll LSC. It was a beautiful and sexy car, and I loved it. But I think my all-time favorite is my 1995 black with black leather Town Car Signature Series. It was so nice. It was great looking inside and out, it had the 4.6 V8 engine under hood, duel exhaust, rear air leveling suspension, It was extremely comfortable, and had excellent road handling manors. It had all the available options including a large moon roof. That Town Car did everything it was designed to do perfectly. I realize these Town Cars were very popular with the public and in fleet services. Lincoln sold hundreds of thousands of these, and I know why. Try to find one in the used market, they are very rare, and should you find one you will pay top dollar for it. The fact that Lincoln sold so many of them, and how rare they are to find is the highest praise a car can receive. People who have them, love and keep them. Ford really got it right with the Fox Platform. For years it was the Crown Victoria, the Mercury Marquis and of course the Town Car. All great reliable car that Americans loved and still do. But they are just another fantastic car built by the Ford Motor Company . Ford gets it.
It would be nice if they made a gas engine version as well , not everyone is sold on the EV …
