$14 830 for the 2011 Hyundai Elantra
This is for a base model. And still is much cheaper than all of the new competition like the Cruze, Focus and Jetta. All models come with a 148hp engine rated at 29/40 MPG. Almost as good as VW’s DTI. I can see this becoming one of the most popular cars in the US very soon.

2012 Hyundai Azera
These are the first official sketches from Hyundai. And actually look pretty realistic. Seems like for the first time, the big Hyundai could have a chance against the Lacrosse and Maxima.

Notes from the show: Cheap Town & Country interior
This is one of the all new Chrysler interiors for 2011.Better than before, but still plenty of cheap looking and feeling plastics. And tacky plasti-chrome everywhere. Not there yet…

Notes from the show: New Acura TSX grille
They do listen. The new grille is much more upscale looking, and less disturbing. And it does fit the car much better now.A great move. I guess now they’ll spend the next 2 years changing grilles on other models…

2011 Chrysler 200
This still looks pretty bad.But there isn’t much they could have done considering what they started with. This will do as a rental car until the “real” all new Chrysler 200 comes out in a couple of years. On a related note, I could finally see for myself some of the new Chrysler interiors today. And,… Continue reading 2011 Chrysler 200

2012 BMW 6 series convertible
Looking really nice, better than the coupe, and really expensive. But I guess that’s the point of a big BMW convertible with a V8…

Cadillac ULC Concept
This is Cadillac’s idea of a small car.Luxurious, like a Cadillac, yet small. Nothing really new, BMW and Audi have been doing this for a while… At this event, which took place at GM’s west coast design center in North Hollywood, most of the crowd was expecting a concept version of the upcoming smaller ATS… Continue reading Cadillac ULC Concept

Toyota Prius Alpha
Or whatever the official name will be. First official picture of the all new “larger than Prius’ Toyota Hybrid.More very soon.

2011 Toyota Corolla
Yes, I know…This is what Toyota will have to battle the new Elantra, Focus sedan. Not to mention everything else that looks better. Complete with 1990’s specs too::1.8 Liter with 132 hp and, yes, a 4 (four) speed automatic. By any standard, a pretty pathetic offering for 2011. Plus, the S version pictured here, complete with… Continue reading 2011 Toyota Corolla

New Opel Coupe coming up?
This illustration looks like it could be based on the Insignia/Regal. Opel will be getting a coupe version of the Astra soon. But this looks more formal and upscale. And it could be another nice looking Buick…

More pictures of the new Buick GL8 Minivan
So far, still for the Chinese market only. But I can’t help thinking it would really work well against the revised 2011 Chrysler Town and Country in the US. Engines in China are the 2.4 Liter from the Lacrosse. Or the 3.0 Liter V6.

Next Opel Zafira
Still not official, but probably really close to the real thing. I think this looks much better than the soft looking Ford Grand C-Max we’ll be getting over here next year. But without Saturn, it could only be sold here as a Buick, like most Opels. And Buick is getting a “smaller than Enclave” SUV next… Continue reading Next Opel Zafira

2011 Chrysler 200
First time we see the interior of the revised Sebring sedan. What a giant step forward. But the previous one was the worst, so anything would have been an improvement. Besides the really nice interior, the new front and rear ends are not enough to make it look like a new car.And only the top of… Continue reading 2011 Chrysler 200

Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet concept
Not sure why they are calling this a concept since they’ve been talking about a production model for so long.it doesn’t look as bad as it could have. I still do not see why they picked the Murano for a convertible. And not the Altima coupe.Or even Maxima… They had to transform the SUV so… Continue reading Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet concept
