• 2011 Kia Optima

From these pictures and the official renderings, it looks like another winner for Kia. We’ll see the real thing very soon…

  • 2012 Chevrolet Aveo

Another good looking small car for us! After the Fiesta, it is GM’s turn to bring us a good looking small sedan.  The interior looks about as good as the one in the Cruze.  This can only be good news for us . But maybe bad news for the Cruze.  The Cruze design is getting… Continue reading 2012 Chevrolet Aveo

  • Lexus CT 200h

Compared to the European competition like the Audi A3 and the BMW 1 series, this new small Lexus seems a bit clumsy looking. A bunch of ideas put together in a weird way.  A very un-European looking design.  Underneath, the power train seems to be similar to the one used in the 2010 Prius.  More… Continue reading Lexus CT 200h

  • 2012 7 passenger Prius?

Just another illustration of what it might look like. And it’s probably pretty close. The Prius family is supposed to grow and include this larger version pictured here, a sporty coupe and a smaller compact hatchback. At least that was the plan up to last year, when the Prius name and reputation were golden…

  • More bad news from Toyota

This video shows how the sudden acceleration problem can actually be reproduced. And, unlike what Toyota has been claiming all along, it IS a software problem. Even worse, the onboard computer cannot “see” it. So if you go to your dealer, it’ll say your car is fine and that nothing ever happened. Which is what… Continue reading More bad news from Toyota

  • 2011 Kia Optima

The all new Sonata cousin will be introduced in the US at the upcoming New York auto show. Another really good looking car from Hyundai/Kia. And with Toyota’s current problems (and more to come with recent findings about how they saved millions by avoiding recalls over the past years), the timing couldn’t be more right… Continue reading 2011 Kia Optima

  • 2012 Scion iQ

When the Toyota iQ reaches the US next door as a Scion, it is supposed to be available as a 5 door hatchback as well as a sedan. The current 3 door model would also be sold in the US. This was sent to me by a reader and it does look like they somehow… Continue reading 2012 Scion iQ

  • Mercedes F800 Style concept

Apparently, this could give us many clues about the styling of the next CLS. I’m not too sure. The car looks much smaller than the CLS. And it looks like some of the illustrations I’ve seen of their upcoming A Class sedan. But the concept is powered by a V6 plug-in hybrid system producing over… Continue reading Mercedes F800 Style concept

  • Infiniti FX Diesel

But not for us… This is Infiniti getting serious about the European market: diesels! Not only the new engine is available on the FX, but also on the EX and the new M. Somehow, not on the GS. Weird. It is a 3.0 Liter V6 and produces 238hp. With pretty much the torque of a… Continue reading Infiniti FX Diesel

  • Mitsubishi RVR

These are pictures of the Japanese version. Europe will get its own in a couple of weeks. And ours will come later, with a new name. The only differences will be trim details. So it will still look 100% boring, no mater what country. What a missed opportunity for Mitsubishi. They are not doing well… Continue reading Mitsubishi RVR

  • New Chinese sedan

Where else could this come from… I hear this is a new sedan from Chinese car maker JAC. Quite a scary sight. This makes the Aztek look like Marilyn Monroe…

  • VW Cross Polo

There was already a Cross Polo version of the previous Polo. So this is no big surprise… Still, I think it is an attractive addition to the Polo. A bit higher, with some “outdoorsy” touches here and there. I think the Polo in general could do really good here in the US against upcoming small… Continue reading VW Cross Polo

  • Nissan Murano Convertible???

This news came out last year, Nissan was coming up with a convertible version of the Murano. A crazy idea. But where is it??? Haven’t heard about it recently. Altima coupe convertible; yes. Murano convertible: please don’t.

  • Next Jaguar XK?

I hope not… This is just an illustration, and the windows and roof seem the be the same as the current model. Plus, it seems to aggressive and angular. Let’s hope Jaguar’s next big coupe ends up as classy as the current one. With a great interior. Not like the new XJ’s which looks and… Continue reading Next Jaguar XK?

  • Opel GT/E Concept

This shows what a “larger than Volt” sport sedan could look like. Using the same electric/gas system. It looks great, and much better than the Volt. I wonder if anything like this will end up over here. As a larger Chevrolet Hybrid model. Or a Buick…

  • 2011 VW Tiguan

I don’t think this is the real thing, yet. But I’m sure it’s close. All new VWs have the exact same front end that first appeared in the new Golf. So there it is…. We’ll see…

  • New VW Polo GTI

This is actually closer in size to the original Golf based GTI. Smaller than the current “regular” GTI. It seems really fun too. Comes with a 1.4 Liter engine with 177hp.  It would be great to offer this much fun in such a small package in the US. Going against the Fiesta…

  • 2011 Porsche Cayenne

Now it really looks like a VW Touareg with a Porsche front end… But I guess that front end is, for many, worth the premium. Just like the VW version, the new Cayenne will be available as a Hybrid as well.
