• Manual for the G8

The Pontiac G8 GT will get a manual option for 2009.Big deal. Most mid sized cars are bought with an automatic, sporty or not.And the V8 G8 isn’t really setting record sales. So a 6 speed won’t really make a difference. I wonder if dealers will even carry them of if it might turn out… Continue reading Manual for the G8

  • Delayed

It’s amazing how fast things are moving and turning around once gas hits $4 a gallon. And it truly shows that US manufacturers should never be counted out. Ford is delaying the launch of the all new F150 for a couple of months. This used to be their most important vehicle. Now it seems they don’t… Continue reading Delayed

  • Tata Nano in Europe for 2010?

That’s what Tata is hoping for.The European price would be just under 5000 euros. More than in India, but far less than anything else in Europe. This car actually reminds me of another European model. The original Citroen 2cv. A super simple, yet practical and affordable car for the masses. The same recipe might just… Continue reading Tata Nano in Europe for 2010?

  • 1947 Chrysler movie

Again, my friend Archibald Morrisson’s Chrysler.A great car, and what a fun ride…. The current Chrysler owners could take some lessons from “the good old days”. Like: a well designed car still looks good 60 years later.Try that with a 2008 Sebring….

  • Next Saab 9.3

I wish I could say this is it.But I think the real thing will not nearly look as good as this illustration. The next generation 9-3 will be based on the same platform as the next Opel Astra. The current one is based on the larger Vectra platform. So the new Saab might be a little… Continue reading Next Saab 9.3

  • New VW Polo illustration

The next Polo should be making it into the US as a new entry level VW.With a new Fiesta coming up, and a new, unnamed, “sub Cobalt” model coming out from GM, it looks like this will be an all new competitive segment in the US.

  • Next Megane

There are so many pictures out . Already…And the car isn’t, yet.

  • No Stick?

A new report is now saying the opposite of what we though was true just a few days ago.The new Nissan maxima Diesel will NOT be available with a stick shift. It will be automatic only. It’s actually good news for anyone who wants this car to be successful in the US. I just wonder… Continue reading No Stick?

  • Roewe 500 Hatchback

The good looking 550 sedan will get a hatchback version soon. The 550 is one of the few Chinese cars that looks like it could do pretty well in Western markets.A hatch sure would help in Europe. Here is a quick video of the 550 sedan. As a reminder of what it looks like…

  • Next Golf now coming over????

A few days ago, some VW execs were saying the US would not get the next Golf. Now, some other suits, from VW USA are actually saying the opposite.Even mentioning that we’ll get the all new Golf/Rabbit (Based on the current model’s platform) about a year after the European launch. Not bad news…

  • Jetta Diesel prices

The new Diesel version of the Jetta will start at $22 000 in the US.And $23 600 for the wagon.A regular 2.5 Liter gas Jetta starts at $17 000.Not sure yet if the TDI comes with more equipment. Otherwise this is a $5000 premium. And that’s pretty insane. The Jetta Diesel is officially rated at 29/40… Continue reading Jetta Diesel prices

  • Next BMW 7 series

The new 7 series doesn’t look like it will break any grounds. At least in the styling department. That’s too bad.The S Class now looks much better. And it’s been out for a few years… we’ll see the real thing soon.

  • New Fiesta

They are now saying (“they” being sources at the Mexican plant) we would get all versions of the car in the US.That means not only the 4 door sedan, but also the 3 and 5 door hatchbacks. Wouldn’t that be great.

  • Mercedes SLC???

Apparently, Mercedes is really considering a car above the SL. Let’s pray it doesn’t look at all like this illustration.Drugs might be an excuse. Or way, way too much drinking. Too fast.
