• 2012 Mercedes SLK

Here it is.After seeing spy pictures of it for the last 38 years, we finally see the real thing. It does look like a blockier version of the current model. Just like most new Mercedes designs. But it’s not that bad.Although I’m not sure yet if it looks better than the current model. It does seem… Continue reading 2012 Mercedes SLK

  • 2012 Toyota Yaris

This is the 1st official picture of the European Yaris.Which is exactly what the US Yaris will look like. The Yaris for the European market has been built in France so far. This is the japanese market Vitz, introduced a few weeks ago.Basically the same car, except some details. The US version will be similar to… Continue reading 2012 Toyota Yaris

  • 2012 Kia Rio

Seems like there will be another good looking small hatchback to look forward to later this year. And also a new front end design for Kia. Also shown in the KV7 Minivan concept this week at the Detroit show. Here is the real thing testing in Europe. Not as dramatic as the illustrations, of course. But very promising.

  • Hyundai Veloster video

Interesting video from Insideline.Where they even mention that the dark grey matt finish of the car shown in Detroit is actually a real option.Has to be a first on an affordable production car.

  • 2012 Toyota Prius V video

I think some people are missing the point of this car. It is not replacing a Minivan in any way.Toyota will be selling it against other 5 seater crossovers. Kind of like the Euro Ford C-max (Not the 7 seater Grand C-Max we’re getting here) In that case, 40MPG is great compared to the competition.

  • 2012 Honda Civic sedan evolution

You can tell when comparing the 2012 model to the current one, that is will actually be an all new design. But it’s very hard to tell. I still like the current model. Not sure why they couldn’t keep it another year or two, and come up with something more modern later…

  • More pictures of the Hyundai Veloster

Sure, it doesn’t look 100% great from every angle, but it is one of the most original cars I have seen in years.Plus, the new 1.6 Liter with a 6 speed manual does sound like fun. At least, they are trying something new.

  • 2012 Honda Civic

These are still labelled “concept” by Honda. But they are pretty much the production version we’ll see in a few months. While the coupe is a bit more aggressive than the current version, the sedan looks like a step backward. This is all they could come up with after 5 years? It looks almost like the same car.… Continue reading 2012 Honda Civic

  • 2012 Hyundai Veloster

Finally, we get to see the real thing. It looks odd on the 2 door side. Better on the otehr. But I really like the hatchback glass roof combo. Engine is the 1.6 Liter with 138h getting 40MPG HWY.

  • Toyota Prius C Concept

And this is obviously not a production model.A dead give away is the goofy “car show interior”. So for now, how the real thing will look like is anyone’s guess. So far, Toyota claims the new small Prius will get the best mileage of any Hybrid on the market. We’ll know more in a bout… Continue reading Toyota Prius C Concept

  • 2012 Toyota Prius V

The larger than Prius, Prius is here.It doesn’t seat 7, like some people thought.Instead, it is just a roomier and larger version of the regular Prius. With a much larger trunk. So now it actually competes with many compact SUVs.It is rated at 42MPG in the City and 38 HWY.Not bad, if you compare it to the… Continue reading 2012 Toyota Prius V

  • 2013 Ford C-Max Energi

The energi version is basically a more expensive Plug-in Hybrid. Ford is hoping to get a 500 driving range between the gas engine and the pure electric.Pretty much all we know so far. On an other note, it looks like all “green” Fords now have the Aston Martin grille. Including the Electric Focus…

  • 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

Ford will be getting an all new Hybrid version of the C-Max in 2012. (2013 in Europe). No specs yet, but it is supposed to be getting a better mileage rating than their 41MPG Fusion Hybrid.I sure hope so. 41 MPG isn’t that amazing anymore. The strange thing is that the Hybrid version os based on… Continue reading 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

  • 2012 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback

Just a few more pictures of the hatchback version. Good to know the manual seems to be available in higher trim levels as well as the base version, unlike most of the competition.

  • 2012 Chevrolet Sonic sedan

For once, the sedan version of a good looking hatchback also looks really good. This looks much better than the Fiesta sedan.I have seen a couple of the small Ford sedans around, and they look really bad in person. Almost on par with the Versa. Even though the hatch looks great. On the other hand,… Continue reading 2012 Chevrolet Sonic sedan

  • Honda Fit Shuttle

The Fit will be getting a wagon version soon. Why?Who knows… This thing looks like a bad concept from the 80’s. The regular 1.5 Liter as well as the 13 Liter Hybrid will be available. This is one car I hope we won’t be getting over here…
