• Opel Corsa (!)

Yes, the little Corsa was at the show. GM announced last year we will be getting the next version as a small Saturn. So I’m not sure why they showed the current model. Maybe to make sure we get used to a really modern looking small compact. Our eyes are so trained to boring stuff….

  • Lincoln MKT

Another great looking design.I really like this car. It reminds me of the futuristic stuff they used to do in the 60’s. And the door handle detailing is just amazing and original. We’ll see how this turns out in production….

  • 2009 Honda Pilot

I wasn’t expecting much, yet I was still shocked at how ugly that thing is. Seems that driving well and being reliable is enough to sell cars. (Just ask Toyota) But it is really sad to see still looking like this in 2008….

  • Pontiac G8

I was also a bit disappointed by the new G8. The V6 version is, just like the Genesis, around $30 000. Which isn’t really cheap. But, unlike the Hyundai, the G8 makes no attempt at luxury. The cloth looks like what you would find in a $17 000 car. And the plastics look pretty cheap… Continue reading Pontiac G8

  • Hyundai Genesis details

So I finally got to see the Genesis in person. And even sat in a couple of them. No surprises from the pictures, really. But inside, even though it looks good, it lacks that true luxury car feel.I can’t explain it, but luxury is more than looks. The doors don’t feel as heavy and solid… Continue reading Hyundai Genesis details

  • VW Passat CC

Another good looking car on the floor. The new Passat CC isn’t that much smaller inside than the regular Passat. It just seats only 4. But it is way better looking. Again, it’s just too bad VW didn’t give it its own dashboard design….

  • CTS Coupe

These are pictures I took at the show. The car is pretty stunning in person. The rear looks pretty futuristic. Production will start next year (as well as the wagon) and the car will be labeled a 2010. Expect bigger bumpers, among other small changes…

  • Polo in the US?

That’s what VW has been asking their dealers. If we get the Polo, it won’t be this one but the next generation. For the Polo to work here, it would have to be quite a bit cheaper than the $16 000 Rabbit. I am not sure VW can produce a car for around $13 000 for the… Continue reading Polo in the US?

  • Aston Martin Rapide

Still covered with tape and stuff. But it’s coming. So if you have tons of mulah, need 4 doors and don’t want to look too much like a geezer, this (and the Panamera) is it….

  • More Venza

Just a couple more pictures. It uses the same V6 as in other Toyotas. But the base engine is a new 2.7 Liter engine. No horsepower ratings yet. So guess what the base engine will be in the Camry next year…

  • VW Passat CC

Not really a coupe, but a much better version of the Passat.it looks really great in person. But it’s too bad the dash is just the same as the regular Passat. The interior is still roomy, but seats only 4. They weren’t talking about prices, but everyone was guessing about $3000 over the Passat. At least.

  • Lincoln MKT Concept

When Lincoln announced they will get their version of the Flex, it doesn’t mean just slapping a Lincoln grille on the Ford anymore. This looks great, inside and out. I will post my pictures and videos of it soon. This is really what a Lincoln should be. It even has a little of a Syd Mead… Continue reading Lincoln MKT Concept

  • Cadillac CTS Coupe

Although this is still a concept, after talking to the designer, it looks like this is pretty much what we’ll get next year. Great news because this car looks amazing in person. Interior is similar to the sedan.

  • Toyota Venza

This is no Raquel Welch, but it is a huge step forward from the Highlander. Basically a Camry wagon that will replace the Solara in the line up.

  • Honda Pilot Concept

This, on the other hand, does not look good in person. This is what you get when you mix square and boring. And later add a dash of ugly to the mix. Sure, it isn’t as disturbing to look at as the new Highlander, but that’s not saying much….

  • Land Rover LR X Concept

I was just sitting inside 10 minutes ago.All I can tell you is that it does look great in person. But it is a pure concept. This is what the production version should look like but I predict it will be downed down by a lot, unfortunately…

  • Mitsubishi Concept RA

Suposelly this is what the next Eclipse might look like.Is the current , and almost new, Eclipse such a flop???

  • 2009 Ford F150

New front, revised interior. The old Ford trick. Nothing is “all new”. Next in line for the “old trick”: The Fusion and the Mustang.
