• Hollywood and Mercedes

Since Clark Gable, many Hollywood stars have been seen driving Mercedes cars. Here are a few of the current famous drivers. Of course, being Hollywood, it has to be a Hybrid or Bluetech diesel. And they are no Clark Gable…

  • Chinese BAIC (Former Saab 9-5) C71

Yet another new front end on the old 9-5. And these blue light don’t really look production ready to me… I think it really doesn’t work with the old design. We’ll never see one anyway…

  • New Hyundai Accent

This is technically the Asian version called the Verna. Which is pretty much what we’ll get over here as the new Accent sedan. A nice looking little inexpensive car. Competing mostly here with the Yaris sedan. Seems like another winner for Hyundai.

  • Fiat 500 5 door

Fiat is seriously considering a larger 5 door version of the 500. It would make the car even more popular in the US. And a great idea. This is something the New Beetle or Mini never offered. The new Mini 5 door is more of an SUV.

  • BMW Gran Coupe concept

Just like the Mercedes CLS, this “Gran Coupe” is NOT a coupe. I don’t know why they keep naming sleek 4 door cars “coupe”. Sure, it is a bit sleeker than the 5 or 7 series. But it is not that modern looking. It could be in the streets right now as a 5 or… Continue reading BMW Gran Coupe concept

  • Ford Start Concept

I think this makes the current Ka look like something out of the dark ages. I just hope some design elements make it into a production car, some day. But the point of the Start is to showcase Ford’s new 3 cylinder engine with Ecoboost technology. Just like the 2.0 Lier 4 cylinder Ecoboost is… Continue reading Ford Start Concept

  • Revised VW Phaeton

Just a new front end and new lights in the back. The interior still has that “previous generation Passat” look. It didn’t look very modern when it came out, back in 2002. This “facelift” doesn’t really help. 8 years later… VW is still talking about bringing the car back to the US. Less than 2500… Continue reading Revised VW Phaeton

  • Huatai B11

Another Huatai… I guess the Bentley grille is their trademark. Or something… I think this looks better than the Cayenne copy . Sure, it is still a blend of many other cars, but it seems to be making more sense on this car…

  • Brilliance BS4 Allroad

The good looking Brilliance wagon gets the fake off road treatment. And it does work. Just like on the Saab 9-3X. The Pininfarina design is a few years old, but still looks really nice. The BS4 is still scheduled to be sold in Europe. But they’ve been saying that since 2008…

  • All new Fiat Uno

It’ll be cheap, and mostly for South American markets. But I can’t help thinking Chrysler/Fiat might be desperate enough to end up selling it in the US. As a small Jeep, or Dodge. The largest engine is a 1.4 Liter with 100hp.

  • Another day, another Chinese copy…

This one mixes the previous Porsche Cayenne with a Bentley grille. But with its small 1.8 Liter turbo engine, this is no Cayenne. From Huatai, which I have never heard of before…

  • 2012 MG TF

Or what it could look like… MG’s new Chinese owners really want to sell cars in the US. A new version of the classic roadster could be the 1st MG in the US in decades. The next model could use a small 2.5 Liter V6 also used in their Roewe 750 sedan ( Nee Rover)… Continue reading 2012 MG TF

  • 2011/12 Hyundai Accent

This looks 100% ready to go. So it might just be a 2011 model. Who knows… It is about an inch longer than the current model, and will use a 1.6 Liter engine in the US. And will add a bit of style to the super compact sedan market.

  • New Saab 9-5 monster coming out of China

Chinese brand BAW bought the rights to built the “old” Saab 9-5 for the local market, a few months ago. Now they are showing us how they intend to ruin the design : by crafting this horrible wannabe futuristic front end to one of the most conservative looking car ever. Let’s hope this stays local…

  • Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake concept

Fancy name for a wagon version of the next CLS. Which is actually rumored to make it into production next year. It will compete with the upcoming Audi A7 and… Dare I say it… The BMW 5 series GT hatchback. A “regular” coupe like sedan is coming first.

  • Chery A6 CC

The Chery A6 Coupe was shown as a concept about 118 years ago. But it looks like they are still working on it. A good thing. The Italian design still looks great. Far better than anything to come out of China. A good design looks great for years and years. This is one Chinese car… Continue reading Chery A6 CC

  • Citroen Metropolis Concept

This gives us a taste of the successor to the C6. Since the CX, it seems that Citroen has been having quite a bit of trouble finding an audience for their larger models. We;ll see if this one works. Still, it’s no DS, or CX….
