All new jaguar XJ “hands on”.
I have to say, in real life, the car is pretty stricking. And it’s big. But after the 1st impression, here are a few things I noticed about the car.
-
2011 Kia Cadenza
A pretty stupid name if you ask me… The large Kia will be the K7 in Korea only, and the Cadenza in Europe and the US. This is what the name Cadenza reminds me of : Costanza! As in George Costanza. The Kia Costanza!

Columbo’s car!
The 1959 Peugeot 403 convertible Peter Falk used to drive in Columbo is pretty much left to rot on a Universal parking lot. This is just a shame. This car is part of TV history and should be treated as such. I took this picture last night. The canvas from the top is now almost all… Continue reading Columbo’s car!

“Luxury Burlapp”
I will get a taste of the good life later today and get to “meet” these 3 cars for myself. Although not driving them, yet. Go ahead if you have any questions.

Toyota Sai
I mentioned this car a few times before. But this is the 1st time we get a real picture of it.The 2 illustrations I posted before showed basically a Lexus HS 250 with a Toyota front end.But Toyota execs have mentioned since that the all new Sai would have its own interior and exterior design. It seems… Continue reading Toyota Sai

2011 Lexus GX Interior
The top picture is the new Lexus GX.Its cousin, the Toyota Prado is pictured at the bottom, with the black interior. And for once, it looks like the Lexus version is getting its own, and much better, interior. So Lexus is indeed making an effort to distance the Lexus version from the almost identical Toyota.Again, that’s… Continue reading 2011 Lexus GX Interior

Another picture of the 2011 US Buick Regal
I think it is an improvement over the Chinese version. The grille still says Buick but in a more subtle way. On sale in about 6 months. But I’ll be reporting on it from the Los Angeles auto show sooner.

2011 Opel Astra Coupe
Just like the current model, the new Astra will eventually be offered as a coupe as well as a wagon version. We should be getting a sedan version in the US within a couple of years. Similar to the redesign Buck Excelle in China.Maybe we’ll get this coupe as well, who knows… That would be one… Continue reading 2011 Opel Astra Coupe

Kia K7, Amanti replacement
The Amanti was horrific looking when it came out, and it’s not getting any better with age.The replacement comes out in Korea next month. We should be getting it over here in a few months. It is now a really good looking car. Compared to what else you get in that segment. It will be based on… Continue reading Kia K7, Amanti replacement

2011 Mercedes E class convertible
Sure, these are pretty ugly pictures from the official patent filling. But so far, the E class coupe is much better looking in real life than on the pictures I’ve seen of it.I’m pretty sure it will be the same for the convertible. Despite early rumors, it won’t be a folding hardtop, like most of the… Continue reading 2011 Mercedes E class convertible

Next BMW 1 series caught testing
All we can tell from this is that it might be a bit wider…So far, I really like the current 1 series coupe and convertible we have in the US. But it is way overpriced. We need a new “2002”. How about getting us one of the 4 cylinder engines they have in Europe, and dropping… Continue reading Next BMW 1 series caught testing

2011 Mercedes CLS
This time with less camouflage. To me, the current CLS is one of the best looking car on the road. So I am not looking forward to see a redesigned version.Such a crazy mad world we live in where everything has to be redesigned or discontinued, no matter how great it already is… But I must… Continue reading 2011 Mercedes CLS

Chinese made VW GTI
For the Chinese market only.It will be similar to the Euro model and will go on sale over there next March. VW, and others, have been making cars in China for decades. So far, for the local market only. But really… How long will it take for these manufacturers to realize they can actually sell… Continue reading Chinese made VW GTI

2011 Buick Regal
1st official picture from GM of our US version.Which is similar to the Chinese version, but there are some differences. Look for them, the red car is the one currently sold in China. Now the “Regal” name is official for the US too…

Chevrolet Volt testing
I just wonder if all the hype and the waiting will amount to anything successful. It does seem to have worked pretty well for the Camaro which has been outselling the new 2010 Mustang since it came out. And the Volt will be the only game in town as far as plug in hybrids go when… Continue reading Chevrolet Volt testing

Subaru’s version of the new Toyota Coupe???
This is an illustration sent to me by a reader.Interesting, but it doesn’t match at all what we’ve seen before. It seems that the Subaru version will have its own design. Not just a different grille. So for once, the actual car could turn out to be much more interesting than the illustrations we’ve seen of it.… Continue reading Subaru’s version of the new Toyota Coupe???

US Fiesta VS. Euro Fiesta
Looks like the whole bumper is new.And the hood too… So far, the US version (W/ black bumper) seems a bit more upscale. I am sure this will make life very hard for the old Focus. Until the all new Focus comes out about a year later…

Volvo Diesels in the US soon
Volvo will have a plug in Hybrid model on sale in Europe for 2012.With US sales following soon after.I can’t really imagine that being cheap. Volvos are pretty pricey to begin with… But Diesels will come sooner, which could mean next year.I guess, like it or not, diesels will finally catch on in the US.With… Continue reading Volvo Diesels in the US soon

New Chevrolet Sail
The current Sail for the Chinese market is based on the old Opel Corsa model. The new one pictures here is supposed to be a Chinese version of the next Chevrolet Aveo. So this might be what we’ll get next year as the new Aveo. Or close to it.The dash seems to have a bit of… Continue reading New Chevrolet Sail

More pictures of the Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept
Still stunning.Using a 2.0 Liter engine with 2 electric motors. Let’s hope some of it will translate into future production models.Because the current line up isn’t really cutting it designwise…
